Festivals
Our Wildflower and Mushroom Festivals feature large educational specimen displays with experts on hand to answer questions. A large variety of plants (including many native species), food, natural crafts, books, t-shirts, and educational materials are available for purchase. Children's activities, music, and raffles add to the festivities. Visitors may also take guided tours of the Arboretum to learn about the area's ecology and history.
The Mushroom Festival is held on the last Sunday in October. The next Mushroom Festival is scheduled for Sunday, October 31, 2010. Read all about our 2009 festival here!
This festival features a broad range of fungi collected throughout western Oregon. Experts are on hand during the show to help with mushroom identification. Don’t miss our annual fall celebration of mushrooms and the harvest season, co-presented by Mount Pisgah Arboretum, the Cascade Mycological Society and Lane Community College.
This event is one of the largest mushroom displays on the West Coast, a huge plant sale, a scarecrowcontest, children’s activities, hayrides, craft vendors, incredible mushroom-inspired food, fresh cider, music, wine, and more!
The Wildflower Festival, co-sponsored by the Native Plant Society of Oregon and Lane Community College, takes place in May on the Sunday after Mother's Day and features extensive displays of Oregon's native and naturalized flowering plant species. Enjoy delicous food and live music while learning about our beautiful local wildflower species. Our next Wildflower Festival is scheduled for Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 10 am to 4 pm. Read about our 2009 festival here.
In addition to these yearly festivals and events, the Arboretum offers a wide variety of educational walks and workshops year-round. See our calendar of events or Walks and Workshops listing.
