Festivals

Our Wildflower Festival and Mushroom Festival are traditions that have delighted the local community for nearly 50 years. Each festival features large educational displays of hundreds of species—wildflowers in the spring, and mushrooms in the fall— with experts on hand to answer questions. Our stage features live music by local bands all-day-long. Throughout the festivals, local naturalists and experts lead guided nature walks through the Arboretum highlighting the area’s ecology and history. For those that are looking to take something home from our festivals, our Merchandise Booth features collectible festival t-shirts and posters and educational materials. We also have vendors selling plants (including many native species), arts & crafts, books and a food cart area bursting with delicious flavors. And for the kiddos, we have a booth just for them full of fun activities!

TransWild Forest Frolic

TransPonder, Cascadia Wildlands, and Mount Pisgah Arboretum cohost TransWild Forest Frolic each Spring to welcome people from queer, trans, BIPOC, and other marginalized communities for a FREE afternoon of outdoor workshops, nature walks, live music, activities, and more!

Logan will guide participants throughout the walk on seasonally available edibles and medicinals. 6 Mindful Meandering Mindful Meandering September 6, 2026 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am Mount Pisgah Arboretum Education Building “Listen closely. Can you hear the gentle whisper inviting you to slow down and rest into the beauty and quiet generosity of the natural world?" Join Julia Siporin for a 2.5-hour Awake in the Wild retreat at Mount Pisgah Arboretum. Through guided meditation, silent walking, and simple sensory awareness practices, you’ll have space to settle, listen, and reconnect with yourself and the living world around you. Julia is a certified Awake in the Wild meditation teacher through Mark Coleman. No prior meditation experience is needed. You’re welcome to bring water and a light snack. We will explore the role of oaks in the more-than-human world around us, the botany and identification of oaks, and also how human needs can be met when we help take care of the oaks. The workshop offers perspectives on the role of oaks in Indigenous ecological science, foodways, and worldview. We will practice hands-on techniques using manual methods of processing, with the goal of making this widespread traditional food accessible to you. In a changing landscape, with oak ecosystems shrinking and an unpredictable climate, looking to our local oaks for sustenance is a truly sustainable solution to food security issues. Instructors: Heron Brae, botanist, wild food teacher, and educator with Brae Botanical Ways. Joe Scott, member of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians and curriculum director for the Traditional Ecological Inquiry Program. Meet at the pavilion.
