About Tim King & the fund

Tim King, beloved Board member and volunteer who spent over two decades in service to the Arboretum, passed away from ALS in September of 2023. Tim’s passion for the Arboretum became a passion for a more accessible Arboretum as he lost his mobility. Tim’s wife Linda King established this Fund to support the Arboretum’s accessibility work in honor of Tim, and it is an enduring legacy of the humble service to people and the Arboretum that Tim was committed to in life.

All-Terrain Track Chairs

In addition to supporting accessible trail maintenance, this fund also supports the Arboretum’s all-terrain track chair program. Our two chairs are available for free by reservation and can traverse most trails in the greater Howard Buford Recreation Area.
