Tim King Nature Accessibility Fund

Tim King, beloved Board member and volunteer who spent over two decades in service to the Arboretum, passed away from ALS in September of 2023. Tim’s passion for the Arboretum became a passion for a more accessible Arboretum as he lost his mobility. Tim’s wife Linda King established this Fund to support the Arboretum’s accessibility work in honor of Tim, and it is an enduring legacy of the humble service to people and the Arboretum that Tim was committed to in life.

In addition to supporting accessible trail maintenance, this Fund also supports the Arboretum’s lease on two all-terrain track chairs from the organization David’s Chair. These chairs are available for free reservation through David’s Chair reservation site, and can traverse many trails in the greater Howard Buford Recreation Area.
